Leadership Arts Associates was an entrepreneur's dream.
This dream came with quite a roller coaster ride of lessons. These lessons include embracing the entrepreneurial mindset, having a vision for your business, learning the ins and outs of managing the people and financing you need for your business.
In the Art of the Entrepreneur Series, we are bringing these lessons directly to you.
These sessions will be hosted for 5 weeks consecutively at a time from 11 am until 1 pm EST. We invite you to bring your lunch along to network from 11 am to 11:30 am with other local aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners, then enjoy the 90-minute workshop from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
Session 1: The Entrepreneur Mindset
Becoming an entrepreneur requires a complete shift in mindset. Come learn how three precise questions can disrupt your old mindset. Discover what this shift exactly entails and how this mindset shift can impact you and your life completely.
Session 2: The Entrepreneur Vision
Many entrepreneurs enter their new venture strictly thinking operations rather than taking the time to be a visionary. Both are essential to have the business you so passionately want to create and have come alive. Come to this session and learn the three-step process to gain clarity on what your vision is.
Session 3: HR for the Entrepreneur
What is the difference between employees and independent contractors? Is it important that you know the difference as an entrepreneur? If you are interested or need a team to make your dream business a reality this is one of many answers you need to know. Come learn about basic hiring and other small business HR practices.
Session 4: Managing People
Do you have a team? Are you not quite sure what you are allowed to do or not do when it comes to employment decisions? Pennsylvania is an “at-will” state so you can do as you please, right? Before you go making decisions there are still some things you should consider before you hire, fire or anything in between. Come learn basic practices on how to instill a culture of accountability. Learn about employee handbooks, leave of absences and other things that you need to know to ensure your business is compliant with the state and federal level on the people side.
Session 5: Entrepreneur Bookkeeping
One dream that is a must when you start your own business, is the dream of one day making money. This dream starts one transaction of someone paying you for your goods or services and then is followed by many many more transactions. Come learn what’s what when it comes to invoicing, contracts, accounts payable and record keeping. Plus gain some insight on when it’s time to potentially upgrade to an outside vendor (for payroll, accounting, and legal advice) to make your life easier. It’s time to have a plan before this dream starts to come true.
