Work Love Speaks To A Journey

Work Love TV Blog Header

Work…”an activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.”

-Dictionary

Love…“is the essential existential fact. It is our ultimate reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life.”

-Marianne Williamson, Return to Love

Work Love speaks to a journey. A journey that I have come to call my HRart journey. HRart representing the intimate relationship I recognize and embrace between my work and my purpose.

Day one of my journey began when I started this business. It started when I was forced to answer the ultimate entrepreneurial question, what do you want to offer the world?

Or as Marie Forleo would remind me time and time again as I binged watched old episodes of her YouTube show, Marie TV…

“There has never been and never will be another you. You have a purpose – a very special gift that only you can bring to the world.”

Marie Forleo

So I spent years trying to discover what I had to offer. Along the way, I discovered some pretty cool things I had to share but then was challenged with narrowing that list down to what I want to offer. I’ve always wanted to help people in any way I can. Which means if I had any sort of skill or “gift” that could help you, why would I not utilize it to help? This tactic was how I ran my business initially and the aftermath was a very diverse almost eclectic menu of services. The true purpose and mission of my business lacked clarity and that was simply because I, as the leader, had no clarity either. I functioned under a general why.

To connect through small intimate moments, so the worthiness of love thrives.

As long as the job or task met my why, I said yes. The work felt fulfilling because it was my truth but disjointed at the same time. In addition, I’ve discovered my energy levels could not sustain what I was building therefore a change was inevitable.

Here we are, in a moment of time where I can avoid the needed change no longer. In fact, life has literally paused and I feel the pull more now than ever to find the answer to that daunting question. What do you want to offer the world?

Last week, I brought back Work Love Wednesday because I needed it and hopefully by sharing my raw growth process, you might receive something that you need as well.

This week’s Work Love episode was a perfect display of the beautiful chaos I’ve been enduring. My life is messy but incredibly blessed and beautiful. For the first time in my life, I am forced to blend all elements that are me.

I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a best friend. I am a business owner. I am a daughter. I am a mother. I am a niece. I am a granddaughter. I am a friend. I am a coach. I am a trainer. I am a teacher. I am a writer. I am a healer.

I am blessed to be so many things, to so many beautiful people. I owe it to each of them as much as I owe it to myself.

To gain clarity so that I may show up at my best.

This is my why of now. It is only when I show up at my best that I will be able to truly serve those I am meant to serve.

That’s how the flamingo spoke to me. The flamingo shared a message of love. The flamingo shined the light on the opportunity that these current circumstances are presenting. The flamingo invited me to look inside and move one step closer to me.

This episode was filled with so much joy, primarily thanks to my girls being willing to co-host. I needed them after coming to these deep conclusions from the reveal of last week’s flamingo. I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to share my thoughts with you and was fearful that I would fall into some deep dark pool of reflection. Needless to say, it was nice to have the girls keep it lighter but still powerful.

I hope you enjoy this week’s pause and practice!  I look forward to connecting with you next week!
